Reunion Co-Chair David Good flashes a smile and his Distinguished Service Award

Saturday night of Reunion weekend was highlighted by the Class Dinner. Among the ceremonies was the announcement of the Distinguished Service Awards, for those classmates who have provided outstanding support for Yale and the Class in their respective capacities.

The first of these Class Awards for Distinguished Service went to David Good for his tireless tenure as Reunion Co-chair extraordinaire (Sean Reilly was similarly recognized in 1990).

Our second Award winner was Susie Krentz, who is active in the Chicago Alumni Schools Committee, on the AYA Board of Governors, and co-founded the Women’s Intercollegiate Sports Endowment and Resource (W.I.S.E.R.) trust.

Both Suzie and David were members of the 25th Reunion Gift Committeee, in addition to their other activities on behalf of the Class. We salute David and Suzie for their superb commitment, both to Yale and the Class of 1980.

In additional class news, this November Rowan Claypool will receive the university’s highest honor, the Yale Medal, for creating the pioneering summer program Bulldogs in The Bluegrass, which brings Yale undergrads to Louisville KY, to work in not-for-profit and for-profit jobs. Bulldogs has been the model for Cleveland’s Bulldogs on the Cuyahoga and for the upcoming Bulldogs on the Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rowan also created Teach Kentucky, which places recent college grads in Kentucky schools.

Congratulations to all of our award winners, and our thanks for all that you do. You bring honor to the Class!
